What are the festival dates?

The festival starts on Friday 4th September 2020. The last main festival day is Sunday 6th of September; the event will run into the morning of the 7th September at around 4am

What are the festival set times?

The event starts from 4 pm to 4 am. Full details of the programme and set times will be released in advance of the festival. Keep an eye out for emails and social media updates.

Can I leave the festival site and come back?

Yes, with your wristband you can go to and from the festival site as often as you’d like.

What happens if I lose my wristband?

Wristbands will only be issued once and broken/lost wristbands will not be replaced. Please look after them!

Is Malta safe to travel to during this time?

Malta’s low rate of infections (second lowest in Europe) means that all quarantine restrictions have now been lifted.

The Government in England has given the green light to overseas holidays in a list of 60 countries, including Malta, meaning that from the 10th July visitors from England to Malta will no longer have to self-isolate on their return to the UK.

What happens when you land in Malta airport?

Once arriving into Malta, you will fill in a quick medical questionnaire of your previous 30 days of travel history and provide a temperature reading. Depending on the results you may be tested at the airport for Covid19 for free.

Will there be medics on site at the festival?

There will be medics stationed by the main festival site, alert any member of festival staff if you’re feeling unwell.

How much are tickets?

What’s included in my festival ticket?

Your festival ticket gets you into the main festival arena at Gianpula Village.

VIP tickets include access to the VIP area in the main festival venue, inc VIP bar, fast track entry to the venue and VIP toilets at the festival.

How can I change the address on my ticket?

Please contact your ticket provider directly. This must be done 4 weeks prior to the event.

How can I change my booking email?

Please contact your ticket provider directly. Please include your full name & Order ID and they will be able to assist you.

Are day tickets available?

No day tickets are available at this time.

What do the different ticket releases mean?

There is no difference in access between the Early-bird, 1st & 2nd Release tickets. As more tickets are released closer to the festival dates, they go up in price. So the sooner you buy your ticket, the more you will save! 

Can I sell my ticket?

Unfortunately, all tickets are non-transferable and we are unable to offer any refunds for tickets no longer needed.

Can I use tickets bought with my old/lost card?

Please bring your new card & official form of ID with you and a letter/bill that matches your account’s address and you will be able to exchange for your festival wristband.

What age do I have to be?

Rhythm & Waves is an 18+ only event and you will need ID to prove your age to guarantee entry.

When will I receive my festival ticket?

E-tickets will be emailed out in the coming weeks before the festival. 

What do I need to bring to guarantee entry?

Please bring your ticket, the card you purchased the ticket with and valid photo ID.

What constitutes valid Photo I.D.?

Photographic form of identifications, i.e. a passport or driving licence, are acceptable.

What if someone else bought my ticket for me and will not be with me at accreditation?

If your name on the ticket does not match your ID, you will need to bring the following in order to exchange for your festival wristband:  

1 – A signed cover letter from the card holder  

2 – A clear scan showing the last 4 digits of the long card number on the card used  

3 – A clear scan of passport or driving license of the card holder 

What needs to be on a cover letter from the card holder?

A written letter giving you consent from the card holder that matches the billing address of your booking. This needs to be signed and dated by the card holder. 

Can I upgrade to a VIP ticket if I’ve already purchased a General Admission ticket?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer ticket upgrades. 

Can you buy tickets off third party websites such as Viagogo?

We do not accept these, guarantee your ticket is genuine by purchasing through our website.

Where should I stay?

Visit our travel partners Choice Holidays, who offer a range of hotels to suit all budgets. Choice Holidays have rooms across the island. 

I’ve booked an apartment away from the festival site. How should I get there?

If you’re located elsewhere across the island and would like information about how to get to the festival site then we’d recommend using taxis to get there as public transport doesn’t run regularly to the area.

Can you camp at Rhythm & Waves?

Camping is not available on site. However we have a range of accommodation including fantastic deals on apartments and hotels. Book through our official travel partner Choice Holidays.

How should I resolve an issue at my hotel?

Please speak with your hotel provider directly. Look out for our festival information pack which we’ll send out before the festival.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Times for individual hotels/apartments vary, and can be found out by contacting Choice Holidays or your accommodation directly.

How can I safely store belongings?

Most of the hotel rooms come with safety deposit boxes in the rooms although some do require a nominal fee for their use. More information is available on safety deposit boxes at individual hotels when booking.

What are my flight options to Malta?

Malta has great connections with many European airports including all major UK airports flying directly into Malta having up to 20 direct flights a day, as well as many more indirect options traveling via mainland Europe – these can all be booked with our travel provider, Choice Holidays. Malta will reopen to all flight destinations from 15th July. Malta’s low rate of infections (second lowest in Europe) means that quarantine restrictions in Malta will be lifted from the 15th of July 2020. 

Which airport should I fly into?

Malta has one airport, Malta International. Choice Holidays fly direct to the airport from across the UK and many mainland European destinations.

How do I book an airport transfer?

Simply visit our travel provider Choice Holidays and enter the date you wish to book an airport transfer and your flight number. Please note that airport transfers are only available to those who have booked accommodation through Choice Holiday’s booking platform.

How do I get to and from the airport?

We’d recommend using Choice Holiday’s airport transfer service.

How will I know when the transport will pick me up for our return flight home?

You will be pre-advised by Choice Holidays who will leave you a “YOUR FLIGHT HOME” letter at your accommodation 48hrs before departure with the details and time of your pickup for your return journey home.

Where will my airport transfer pick me up?

All of our airport transfers pick up from outside the arrivals terminal transporting you directly to your hotel. A representative holding a sign for Choice Holidays will be waiting for you to escort you to your transfer.

Transfers back to the airport pick you up from your hotel around 3 hours before your flight departs. Full details will be sent to you in advance of your travel.

What details are required to book the right airport transfer?

Choice Holidays require the flight numbers which correspond to your flights in and out of Malta.

The average temperature on the island is a high of 28 degrees and a low of 20 degrees in September.

What is the time difference?

Malta is one hour ahead of the UK (GMT) – midday in Malta is 11am in the UK.

Are there cash machines on site?

There are cash machines across the island of Malta where you can withdraw Euros as well as Bureaux de Change in some hotels.

What currency do I need to bring?

The official Maltese currency is the Euro, which can be bought easily at the bank, the post office or at the airport.

How much will it cost to use my phone?

The majority of network providers now offer calls, SMS and data roaming whilst visiting EU countries free of charge, this includes Malta.  Be sure to double-check with your provider in terms of tariffs, especially when it comes to data. Take extra care of your usage and keep an eye on your allowances whilst on the island.

Will there be WiFi available?

We’re working with hotel providers to ensure that WiFi is available in communal areas, but we cannot guarantee WiFi access in all accommodation.

Can I get a refund?

In the event of a cancellation or rescheduled date ticket holders will be entitled to transfer their ticket to a rescheduled show, or a refund on their ticket.

If the Maltese government cancels travel from a specific country for this festival, those customers will be entitled to a refund on their ticket.

Our travel partner Choice Holidays are also offering £1 deposits for accommodation booked through them for the festival. They offer a huge range of accommodation and airport transfer options.

If you can no longer attend the event due to reasons other than the event being cancelled, rescheduled or the Maltese government imposing travel restrictions on the specific country you are traveling from, you will not be entitled to a refund

What dates does the festival take place?

The festival begins on in the daytime on Friday 4th September and runs through to Sunday 6th September (finishing in the early hours)

What are you doing for the safety of attendees?

At the festival site, there will be temperature checks on entry, hand sanitizer in various locations, and for those who want to check, onsite Covid-19 tests. These measures have been put in place to ensure peace of mind during this time, and sit on top of our usual health and safety measures which we carry out at all of our events.
